SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision of the CMO, the Regional Nursing Director shall provide clinical operations management and oversight of support staff within a specified region. He/she shall attempt to assess and resolve specific issues pertaining to clinic operations together with the Regional Medical Director and Regional Director of Operations prior to escalating. The Regional Nursing Director is responsible for training, staffing, disciplinary actions, and performance evaluations as well as regulatory compliance related to clinical services. He/she shall demonstrate visibility and build trust among their specified region especially with the support staff group by means of frequent clinic visits.
 
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Works closely with Operations and Medical Staff Office Department
2. Participates in Practice Optimizations Visits and Leadership in the Trenches Initiatives
3. Directs nursing services in compliance with federal, state and local regulations
4. Participates in the hiring, coaching, development, discipline and termination (when necessary) of clinical personnel
5. Implements policies related to triage and standing orders
6. Provides training for staff in areas of workflows, patient care, infection control and continuity of competencies for new and established staff; repeats annually or as appropriate
7. Manage Clinical Operations of assigned centers to ensure health, safety and positive experience of patients and staff. Conducts site visit on a routine basis to assist individual center leadership with clinical issues and to monitor quality of programs and operations. Provides direct support to the assigned centers through evaluations, on site visits as needed. 
8. Participates in the development and review of assigned center’s budget and staffing patterns appropriate for patient care and flow. 
9. Leads and participates in shared learning across the nursing clinical practice 
10. Assesses the impact of policies and workflows, at all times maintaining awareness of level of efficiency 
11. Implements and assesses new workflows for nursing, medical assistant, scribe and lab.
Produces active workflows and patient-care modified care plans to increase patient care in all aspects of patient needs.
Revises, develops, implements and monitors policies, procedures and scope of practice for clinical needs
Implements and review clinic practice into proper workflows for increased productivity
Utilizes audit cycles as means of evaluating the quality or work of team and self, implementing improvements where needed
12. Prioritizes, organizes and manages own and other’s workload in a manner that maintains and promotes quality
Supports development of team ideas in order to maximize team potential
Delegates assignments to appropriate team members for increased productivity of overall goal to increase patient access and efficiency 
13. Works as an effective and responsible team leader, supporting others, and exploring the mechanisms to develop new ideas
14. Oversees clinics for designated region including non-provider medical staff
15. Evaluates and modifies non-provider medical staff scope of practices and job descriptions annually or as necessary
16. Participates in workgroups to develop change improvement processes for implementation throughout the organization
17. Works with Clinical Coordinators and Department Chairs in the development, implementation and monitoring of workflows/procedures in accordance with Clinic and Department goals. 
18. In collaboration with the Clinic Leadership, assesses staffing utilization and needs

QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
1. Three years of experience in nursing 
2. Experience in nursing management/leadership and program development to facilitate setting expectation and help create a vision
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHR systems 
4. Ability to function independently and with minimal supervision
5. Ability to function in a fast paced, intensive, time pressure work environment
6. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to assist with efficiency
7. Possess the temperament to confront colleagues and foster conflict resolution
8. Possess positive leadership qualities to secure the cooperation of others in the pursuit of common objectives

Special Conditions of Employment:

1. Current and active license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California 
2. Current and Valid CPR and First Aid certification
3. Valid Driver’s License

4. Ability to proficiently read, write, speak and understand English
