ASI has an amazing opportunity for a Director of Student Engagement and Outreach.

SUMMARY:
The Director of Student Engagement and Outreach is responsible for the overall administration and operational oversight of all programs and services in the SEO department. The Director provides leadership and direction to the following areas: KSSU Student Run Radio, A-Team Event Planning, the Safe Rides Program, the ASI Food Pantry, the Hot Spot Engagement Center, and ASI Promotions and Outreach. The Director is responsible for program development, staffing, budgeting, and creating policies and procedures, assumes full responsibility for the leadership of the department, and supports, communicates and consistently implements ASI policies and procedures.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure the Student Engagement and Outreach programs offer quality services that meet the needs of a diverse student population. Provide programmatic oversight by developing and implementing policies and procedures and regularly meeting with the Associate Director and other department staff as needed.

  • Work effectively and collaboratively with a diverse range of campus constituencies to serve a diverse student population.

  • Maintain working relationships with students, staff and university administrators.

  • Directly supervise the Associate Director of Student Engagement and Outreach, with indirect supervision of the A-Team event and outreach staff.

  • Oversee the operation of the ASI Food Pantry, inclusive of directly supervising the Food Pantry Coordinator and indirectly supervising any part-time student assistants, managing donor relations, grant writing, co-chairing the Food Pantry advisory council, overseeing that health regulations and campus protocols are followed, and reporting statistics.

  • Directly supervise the Student Services Coordinator, with indirect supervision of KSSU Radio core staff and Safe Rides program.

  • Ensure ASI’s compliance as it relates to copyright infringement and royalty sharing with outside producers and distributors. Seek legal counsel when necessary.

  • Support and enhance the educational and leadership development of Student Engagement and Outreach staff by developing, coordinating and implementing student leadership experiences and training. Organize and facilitate collaboration between ASI student staff and University student service programs and activities.

  • Oversee the planning and implementation of the annual ASI student employee awards.

  • Develop, manage, and evaluate the annual department budget. This includes preparation of future budgets, monitoring and evaluating the current budget, meeting established deadlines, and advising management of budget related issues.

  • Participate as a member of ASI’s management team advising and providing input to the Executive Director regarding organizational issues such as long-term planning, policies and procedures, and finance matters.

  • Represent Associated Students, Inc., on various Committees, particularly those related to basic needs, wellness, campus/student life, student involvement and leadership development.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations related to OSHA and ASI IIPP standards.

  • Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university

  • At least one-year experience as an assistant director or higher, or equivalent experience

  • Two years supervisor experience including staff recruitment, selection, training, supervision and evaluation

  • Experience in budget planning and implementation

  • Experience in student leadership development

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s degree preferred
