SEO’s purpose is to provide holistic student-centered programs and services that
enhance student life and create lasting memories through community engagement,
connection building, and creative exploration.

Interviews will be conducted between November 18 - 27, 2019
Target start date: January 6, 2020

SUMMARY: The Community Service Events Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Student Engagement Coordinator with planning events and working collaboratively with the other members of the A Team to provide opportunities for student engagement through community service. This includes coordinating various service initiatives for the Sac State student community and working with existing staff to increase student awareness of campus service opportunities.


• Assists in the planning and coordination of multiple events on behalf of Student Engagement and Outreach that are specific to Community Service Efforts, inclusive of securing event space, catering, vendors, materials, and all other necessities for a successful event.
• Collaborates with the graphic designers, communications, and outreach coordinators to promote the event around campus
• Organizes and facilitates planning meetings between A Team and other constituents as needed
• Assist with the planning of campus blood drives in conjunction with Blood Source, planning ASI Week programs, Thanksgiving Food basket donations, Cesar Chavez Community Service Day, and Feel Good Friday programs
• Assist other event Coordinators with the execution of their events when necessary (i.e. being present at events to assist with set up, coverage, facilitation, etc.)
• Maintains program materials and supplies
• Attends mandatory department meetings, events and activities • Other duties may be assigned

• Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
• Ability to manage heavier workloads during peak times
• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse student population, ASI programs and on campus departments


• Currently enrolled Sac State student in good standing
• One year of event planning experience (paid or voluntary)
• Experience on windows-based personal computers using Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher and Power point

Hourly Pay: $13
