*This is a rotational position based in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska (North Slope)* 


An Expeditor is primarily responsible for the safe and efficient movement and delivery of material from warehouses to customer drop points, and collection of material from freight carriers. Operates light and heavy-duty trucks to and from required locations, operates forklifts at various locations.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Work in a safe manner and correct unsafe acts and conditions.

  • Operate light and heavy-duty trucks and equipment, moving materials and equipment where required.

  • Responsible for inspecting material packaging prior to loading to ensure safety in transport.

  • Responsible for adequately and safely securing loads for transport.

  • Transport liquid totes and HAZMAT material safely and in compliance with all procedures and regulations.

  • Deliver materials safely to customers and drop points, often using outdoor metal stairways.

  • Operate forklifts to load, off-load, and /or transport materials. Perform daily equipment maintenance checks.

  • Load material packages into and out of vehicle by hand, using good body mechanics.

  • Participate in a quality Tool Box Talk (TBT) daily.
  • Develop quality Activity Hazard Analysis (AHA) for non-routine work being performed, and for any routine tasks involving hazardous materials.
  • Prioritize work, assisting in warehouse and material handling operations whenever necessary.

  • Execute various warehouse transactions electronically.
  • Strong knowledge of marshalling hand signals


Non-Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • May be required to participate on Incident Management Team.

  • Any other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications: These are the minimum qualifications to be considered for this position.

  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in performing material handling activities and operation of forklifts, light trucks, and heavy trucks.

    • Hazardous material training preferred.

    • Basic knowledge of SAP preferred.

    • Freight delivery and/or customer service experience is highly preferred.

  • High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.

  • Valid Class B Commercial Driver’s License with HAZMAT and air brake endorsement. Class A preferred.

  • Medical Card for CDL and clean driving record.

  • Software & Reporting - The individual is highly experienced in advanced features of MS Word and Excel with working knowledge of the other software tools within the Microsoft Office Suite and has a demonstrated knowledge of computerized database applications.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described in this job description are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential duties and responsibilities of this job. 


Work is performed in a warehouse setting with ability to speak and receive phone communications often.  Work requires computer usage with strength, dexterity, coordination and visual acuity to use keyboard and video display terminal and other office equipment.  Position drives light and medium duty trucks, so regular and frequent travel required.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasional sitting for prolonged periods of time, using hands/fingers requiring dexterity and coordination to handle boxes, files and single pieces of paper, reaching with hands and arms for items above and below table height, talking, hearing, and seeing (up close, at a distance, along the periphery, with depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus); walking from place to place with use of stairs and no elevator available; bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for long periods of time; regular lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of up to 35 pounds;  occasional lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling of up to 50 pounds.
