Product Manager- Composite Tooling
Summary of Position
The Product Manager (PM) – Composite Tooling is responsible for development and growth of Ascent Aerospace’s composite tooling solutions and profitable growth in sales of these products.He or she is also responsible for the identification, development, and release of industry relevant products to support the growth of Ascent Aerospace’s Composites product line.
·Identify viable programs / projects for pursuit that will enable achievement of target revenue / profit goals.Develop strategies and work with Sales & Estimating Team to execute these plans and realize the goals.
·Position themselves with customers to perform primary market research and understand upcoming programs and customer spend
·Generate and manage product development activities, including product planning, product road maps, and process development.
·Coordinate with marketing manager and key account managers to develop customer facing materials and inform customers of new products and processes.
·Translate customer feedback and requirements to actionable improvements and work with manufacturing leads to implement on the shop floor.
·Lead specific Composite Tooling opportunities. This can involve; intelligence gathering, developing a winning sales plan, liaising with key account managers, applications engineers, proposal and estimating on the technical solution and pricing and selling value to customer.
·Develop and maintain professional relationships with all levels within a customer. Maintain a cadence of communication and interaction with customers.
·Coordinate with other Ascent personnel who interact with the customer to ensure an optimum approach.
·Maintain CRM (Salesforce) data and other reporting requirements.
Required Skills, Education & Experience
3+ years in product management, product development, and/or composites manufacturing
Technical knowledge in aerospace composite manufacturing; familiarity with composite tooling preferred
A successful track record of selling customized, technical products and solutions
Technical bachelor’s degree is preferred and/or ability to demonstrate appropriate technical aptitude.
Ability to develop and maintain customer and internal relationships
Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
Ethical conduct with a high regard for confidential information
Ability to adapt to change within the processes of product management, sales, and organization as a whole
Computer skills to ideally include Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and CRM (Salesforce)
·Regular travel required, approximately 30-50%, with a 50/50 split between domestic and international.

- Typically sits for extended periods at a computer workstation

- The employee may be exposed to vibration
- The employee is occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
- May be required to travel to other site locations during the work day
- May be required to work weekends to meet department and business demands in particular as related to international travel destinations
- Work with safe manufacturing processes and understand that eye wear is mandatory in the manufacturing area
- Knows that safety shoes are recommended in the manufacturing area
- Knows the purpose and location of Material Safety Data Sheets
