0603 - TRC Vehicle Maintenance & Administration - Transportation Manager
RESPONSIBLE TO:AED/Employee Relations and Support Operations
Assure the safe transportation of all passengers and staff transported by Central Transportation.
Adhering to all Federal and State requirements regarding vehicles and driver requirements (inclusive of all applicable OPWDD regulations and guidelines). Managing all aspects of the agency fleet including and not limited to purchasing, replacement, vehicle maintenance, and safe operation.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills and be able to communicate effectively a variety of customers. Must able to give clear directives to staff regarding expectations of their positions. Must be able to resolve conflicts and find resolutions quickly.
Must be able make sound decisions quickly ensure the safety of the passengers and staff.
Must be able to multi task and prioritizes duties as needed. Must be self directed and motivated and be available to staff. Must be able follow through regarding incident reporting and provide plan of protection. Reliability, flexibility, adaptability is a must and a willingness to act as the Transportation Supervisor and the Garage Supervisor in their absences. Ability to schedule routes effectively and oversee staff that includes mechanics, bus drivers, van drivers and transportation aides.
Bachelors Degree in a related field plus 3 years related experience. Supervisory or Management experience necessary. Experience in transportation field or fleet management field preferred. Experience in transportation and working with individuals with disability is preferred.
Responsible for the administrative supervision of assigned personnel administration staff, including but not limited to:
Hiring, firing, discipline, performance evaluation, in-service education, training, development and support, and ensuring that there is an adequate number of staff to fulfill assigned responsibilities.
Conducts staff meetings as needed or assigned.
Ensure the competency and professionalism of assigned staff.
Ensures that all services provided by the department adhere to federal and state laws and regulations governing personnel administration as well as, TRC policy and procedure.
