Senior Information Security Analyst

This important role will be responsible for information security across a variety of applications and solutions and is assigned to project/initiatives that present security and privacy components. The Senior Information Security Analyst is responsible for conducting cyber security assessments that include threats, risks and impacts. In partnership with IT provide software and hardware vulnerability management. The Senior Information Security Analyst plans and develops information security and privacy measures to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized disclosure, alteration or destruction. The successful candidate must have a customer-focused attitude and possess the skills and qualifications necessary to work with various levels within the organization, ranging from associates to executives, in order to accomplish Information Security goals at VHDA.
Responsibilities will include:
Serving as an information security subject matter expert to business areas, project teams and vendors in order to apply and execute appropriate use of technology solutions;
Participating in information security and privacy efforts across all business areas and vendor engagements;
Accountable for the design and implementation of security and privacy strategy, architecture and platforms;
Partnering with IT to map out infrastructure technology architecture: to identify hardware, storage systems and networks;
Representing information security and privacy in ePMO technology projects to ensure significant projects have appropriate representation ensuring long-term success;
Developing and implementing information security and privacy educational programs and conducting awareness seminars/workshops, as appropriate;
Researching, evaluating, designing, testing, recommending and planning the implementation of new or improved information security software or devices including analysis of new or enhanced software applications or tool implementations for implications to existing information security.
Qualified candidates must possess:
Bachelors’ degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent education and/or work experience;
A minimum of seven (7) years of demonstrated experience in information security;
Extensive knowledge of the principles and methods applied to information technology infrastructure planning, implementation, and management;
Interpersonal, planning, management, and communications skills; ability to communicate professionally verbally, in writing, and in presentations;
Experience working with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, COBIT, etc.).
Preferred qualifications include a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent certification and experience in forensics, project management, server administration, and/or network engineering. Knowledge of cloud security and cloud security controls. Working experience in IT Risk Assessments and knowledge of Information Security regulatory compliance (GLBA, GDPR, PCI, etc.).
