We’re looking for amazing people! Come join VHDA as a Loan Closing Specialist. This important role will support the Homeownership Strategic Lending and Quality Review Area by enabling first time homebuyers to purchase a home. You will work closely with settlement agents, borrowers, and realtors to create and review documentation to finalize the loan purchase process. 


Responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing title work and preparing and reviewing all loan closing documents for accuracy, completeness and compliance with all federal, state, MRB, CFPB, TRID and insuring agencies requirements.  

  • Working with manufactured housing conversions and construction to perm single close loans.

  • Performing a review of Note(s) and/or an extensive Closing, and MRB/credit review of loans submitted by lenders for purchase.

  • Assisting Purchase Review area by performing thorough reviews of all collateral documents received after closing.

  • Exploring innovative ways to streamline processes and increase productivity.

  • Keeping abreast of Federal and private lending programs through continuing education including in-house classes, seminars, agency meetings/webinars and Allregs classes to enhance knowledge.

Qualified candidates must possess:

  • Several years’ recent experience in the closing field of mortgage banking to include knowledge of construction perm financing and manufactured housing conversion guidelines. 

  • The ability to perform a variety of work assignments within the occupational field with minimal supervision. 

  • Knowledge of FHA, VA, RD, CFPB, TRID and insurer requirements. 

  • Excellent customer service skills.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Mortgage loan processing experience. 

  • AA degree or equivalent vocational/technical skills.

  • Knowledge of VHDA loans.

Hiring Range:  $51,849 - $67,403
