Job Summary:
The Damage Prevention and Locate Compliance Coordinator is responsible for the wireline, copper, coax, and fiber networks within the local Shenandoah County Construction operations footprint. The Damage Prevention & Compliance Coordinator ensures all state and local damage prevention rules and laws and best practices are being adhered to by either external and/or internal excavators while working around or near Shentel utilities. Responsibilities include screening inbound tickets through MAPCOM, locating Shentel facilities, investigate code usage, and provide monthly response code reports. The position is responsible for conducting damage investigation(s) to Shentel facilities as well as conducting joint investigations with other utility operators and locators and billing and tracking all damages to Shentel facilities from the time of the damage to the collection of payment.

Qualification Requirements:
a. Education: AS degree in a relevant engineering or technology field is desired. Other candidates with a strong technical background and substantial industry or military experience will be considered.
b. Experience Level:
i. 5 or more years of experience in the telecommunications industry is required
ii. 3 or more years of experience with all phases of aerial and underground copper, coax, and fiber plant construction
c. Special Requirements:
i. Valid driver’s license
ii. Strong project management experience
d. Skill Requirements:
i. Detail oriented and strong organizational skills
ii. Demonstrated strong problem solving skills
iii. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
iv. Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously
