Job Summary:

The Senior Phone and Network Engineer position is responsible for the general growth and tuning of the Paya Phone and related Networking systems. 

 

Responsibilities:

Analyze the requirements of all departments to determine their Phone technology needs and maintain growth

Design and document efficient and cost-effective phone/network equipment and software

Inspect the use of Phone/Network equipment and software to ensure functionality and efficiency.

Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management

Coordinate with Business Units to meet project deadlines and growth of the business with relation to Phones/Queues/Campaigns.

Review and contain cost on monthly phone related bills.

Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts

 

Qualifications and Requirements:
Proven experience in VOIP phone systems

Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of phone and network systems and their specifications

Sound understanding of Call Management Systems 1 (hardware/software), networks etc.

Experience in development and roll out of call campaigns/queues.

Excellent organizational and documentation skills

Outstanding communication abilities

 

Skillset: 

8 years of progressive hands-on experience in Phone and Network systems operations, implementation, and operations

BS in computer science or equivalent experience

Advanced knowledge of Cisco Networking

Advanced knowledge of VOIP passed phone systems (Cisco and other vendors)

Capable of managing and overseeing:

Cisco Call Manager

PureCloud/Genesys phone switch

MPLS VOIP routing and provisioning

Advanced knowledge of Telco voice provisioning

Knowledgeable in phone deployment and security

Exceptional written and oral communication skills

Must be customer-focused, self-directed, results/goal oriented, and demonstrate initiative

 

Education Requirements:

BS degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent workplace experience. Graduate degree in Computer Science or related field or MBA a plus.
