Paya is looking for a Compliance Manager for a full-time role to be based in our Dunwoody location.


The Compliance Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and administering all aspects of Paya’s Compliance Management Program.  As well as, the ability to assess future risk, opportunities, and effectiveness of the overall program is key.  This position should have a strong understanding of the operational compliance risk within the Payments Industry.  In so doing, the candidate will be able to translate regulatory/compliance and network requirements into management actions with simplicity and efficiency.  The aptitude to translate these results into meaningful solutions to enhance decision making and bridge gaps between IT, Finance, Risk, and other vital stakeholders in order to achieve and stay compliant, is a prominent aspect of this role.
 

This position will employ active compliance monitoring to stay ahead of requirements affecting our industry.  This position plans, organizes, and controls the day-to-day administrative and operational compliance activities. He/she will manage the remediation efforts resulting from internal and external compliance audits or examinations, while working with the necessary areas to identify and resolve issues on resulting action plans to address deficiencies.  The candidate will be responsible for the design, coordination and preparation for the review of policies, procedures, training materials and other communications to ensure compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.  

He/she will serve as a subject matter expert regarding compliance risk with new products and processes and provides recommendations to mitigate risk. The position requires intense communication, negotiation and problem solving along with thorough knowledge of Payments processing, ACH, Bankcard, operational risk management, and other network compliance aspects. Intimate knowledge of NACHA Rules, Card Association Rules and other regulatory guidance is a

requirement in order to Advise Senior Management and all other personnel of emerging compliance issues.  The individual will participate in various committees, audits and examinations and collaborate with the VP of Risk and CFO in the overall administration of these directives.

Essential functions:

Essential Duty 1: Card Brand Compliance Management

Details: Responsible for leading the Compliance Department for the Paya Enterprise ensuring effective collaboration amongst key stakeholders to achieve compliance and risk mitigation.  Important items include:
Card Brand Compliance items such as Data Integrity, Registrations, etc.
Merchant PCI oversight and 3rd party vendor relationship
Merchant data compromise investigations.
 
Essential Duty 2: Liase with internal stake holders to inform and implement compliance changes as indicated by network and association requirements. The candidate will be the primary driver of this internal process to make sure all stakeholders are attune to necessary changes, appropriate ownership/assignments and deadlines.
Percent of time: 40% 
Details: Gather, create and distribute a consolidated card brand update bulletin, informing internal stakeholders of upcoming compliance initiatives and changes.

Use this as a forum to engage internal areas with the translation and review of these items to develop action plans for resolution.

Essential Duty 3:

Manage relationships with 3rd party assessors and coordinate remediation efforts.
Percent of time: 20%
Details: Assists in partnering with 3rd party auditors and assessors to monitor progress and coordinate remediation efforts with internal areas.


Essential Duty 4: Reporting & Other
Percent of time: 5%
Details: Provide necessary reporting to inform Sr. Management and perform other duties as assigned.

Works under broad direction, determines best way to accomplish projects/tasks; assigns tasks and responsibilities to others; allocates resources; implements strategy.

Supervision: Supervises and manages work of employees; makes hiring, performance and compensation decisions. 

Work Environment: Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
 
Qualifications: 
Bachelors degree required. Masters degree is preferred. 
Minimum of 3 to 5 years or more of experience in related field required. 
Experience in payments industry is preferred. 

Other skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. 
Good written and oral communications skills.
Capacity to work independently and make decisions.
Strong time management skills and ability to perform well under pressure.    
Strong computer skills (including MS-Office, excel, word, etc).
